Christine Pilgrim is a performer/educator who specializes in history based theatre.
She presents interpretive programs for children and adults
at schools, colleges, museums and historic sites.
Her Victorian Schoolma'am character, Mrs MacPherson,
has been a favourite with teachers and students for almost fifteen years.
Now she extends program choices to include the stories of
gold-rush pioneer Catherine Schubert,
renowned Canadian artist Emily Carr,
poet Pauline Johnson and countless others.
She also brings history to life with her show
"What Women Wore and Why" which provides a glimpse
at what women wore under their Victorian gowns.
Her "War Songs and Stories" offers a human
perspective on war, while her "Knights of Knonsense"
gives a tongue-in-cheek impression of British traditions.
Christine Pilgrim also writes shows and tours
tailored to specific subjects, characters and/or historic sites.
Her performances are not all based on serious subjects - sometimes she lets her hair down with characters like Mrs (Santa) Claus and Grimble the Storyteller.
